SEEITA & MASIT Open Days 2010

Re-aktiv was one of the presenters on this year’s edition of the conference SEEITA and MASIT OPEN Days, traditionally held annually in Macedonia.

The Conference SEEITA & MASIT Open Days is one of the most important gatherings of the ICT associations and businesses in South-East Europe. This conference covers topics of broad interest, priorities of the regional ICT industries, exchange of best practices, ICT market forecasts, update on future events, and joint cooperation on ICT projects. SEEITA’s aim is to foster regional cooperation and competitiveness in ICT, by acting as a platform for discussions between SEE professionals, consumers and providers.

Re:Aktiv organized and was one of the presenters on the session ICT applications – specific eGovernment solutions for better business environment which took place on 15 October 2010, at the Metropol Lake Resort in one of the tourist gems of Macedonia, the city of Ohrid.

The guest speakers included:

Mr. Axel Forstmann from the High Court of North Rhine-Westphalia and Mr. John Murray who gave an overview of pan-European Initiatives in business registration;

Mr. Zvonko Obradovic, director of the Serbian Business Register Agency, who presented Serbian experiences and potential for regional business registration infrastructures;

Mr. Zoran Aleksov, Mayor of city of Shtip discussed the pressing need for e-Services offered to the citizens and businesses on local level;

Ms. Elena Stamatoska from the USAID e-Gov Project gave an overview of how e-Government paved the way for Modern Macedonia; and

Re:Aktiv, specializing in e- government solutions presented case studies including technological, administrative and legal aspects of solutions inviting esteemed participants from the EU, regional and national level to join the discussion regarding the possibilities of ICT for reform, as well as challenges and opportunities for national administrations as well as the potential for regional cooperation.

Dejan Damjanovic and Andon Rumenov focused on accomplishments thus far as well as discussions of the future of eGovernment in the region revolving around the following three key themes:

  • Registration and business management
  • Reporting standards
  • Services to the business community
